Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Chelsea's squad for this weekend's FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace. It's FA Cup time for the Blues, and the winner of Sunday's match at Wembley will face the winner of the other match between Manchester City and Liverpool in the final.
Tuchel announced on Friday morning that Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi are still sidelined, while Romelu Lukaku gave the Blues a boost after missing the trip to Real Madrid in midweek. "Everyone looks to be well (except Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi)," Tuchel revealed.
"Romelu returned to training the other day."
Many players will be eager to remain in their starting roles at Wembley after the success at the Bernabeu in midweek. After scoring against both Southampton and Real Madrid, Timo Werner will be eager to continue his good work. Tuchel is well aware of Chelsea's perilous and difficult job this weekend against Patrick Vieira's team.
"The consistent level on which they play, great level of energy, devotion," he continued. They continue to play in the same manner throughout the season. It is a strong belief, a true team effort, and a close relationship with the coach. They're calming down the club and the situation, which hasn't been easy with so many players leaving before the season begins. They did a superb job of forming a high-energy team with high individual quality and a dangerous counter-attacking unit. A dedicated group that will be a challenge to play against in the FA cup. t's a tremendous opportunity for us and them to play at Wembley. To control counter-attacks, individual quality, dribbles, and play with the same passion, we must be really well prepared. They have the ability to generate a specific ambiance, particularly at Selhurst Park, but also at Wembley.
