The essence of Easter, according to Rev Dr Cyril Fayose, General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, is forgiveness, love, and reconciliation.
He stated that "personal and national difficulties" had caused some hostility and polarisation among the people, and that it was critical that the Easter holiday be utilised to bring people together.
"As a country, as families, as diverse ethnic groups, and as coworkers, we must learn to forgive one another and live in peace and harmony."
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, the General Secretary noted that Jesus Christ was the personification of service to mankind, and that "if we are to progress as a country, we must be prepared to serve one another and not take advantage of others."
