A 16-bedroom house in Baakoniaba, a Sunyani neighbourhood, was destroyed by fire, leaving 45 people homeless.

The fire broke out at 10:35 a.m. on Wednesday, destroying property and personal possessions worth millions of Ghana cedis.

There were no casualties, and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) claimed it was investigating the reason.

The fire originated in a closed wooden kitchen that held liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders linked to the house, according to Linus Dapilah, a victim.

The Bono Regional Fire Operations Officer, Divisional Officer Grade III (DOIII) Ignatius N-Noekor, who led the crew, claimed the fire tender had a pump failure when they arrived.
