Southampton vs. Arsenal - Kick-Off Time, Preview, Prediction, Available Players, Team News, Lineups
Arsenal will look to rekindle their charge for a top-four finish in the Premier League when they visit St Mary's on Saturday afternoon.
In their most recent match, the Saints were thrashed 6-0 by Chelsea, while Mikel Arteta's side suffered back-to-back defeats with a 2-1 loss at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Team Updates
Southampton striker Armando Broja will make a welcome return to the squad after being ruled ineligible to face parent club Chelsea on Saturday, allowing Adam Armstrong to take his place on the bench.
Shane Long, Alex McCarthy, and Lyanco are all in with a chance to make the squad after recovering from injuries.
Oriol Romeu was sent off after just 36 minutes against Chelsea and may now be replaced in midfield by Ibrahima Diallo, while Theo Walcott will likely start on the bench against his former club.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have already confirmed that Tierney will be out for the rest of the season, while Partey is still in the hospital and Tomiyasu will not return to team training until after Saturday's game.
After the Granit Xhaka left-back experiment failed miserably against Brighton, Arteta may opt to bring Nuno Tavares back into the defense while Xhaka returns to the midfield alongside Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Alexandre Lacazette has not scored in the Premier League from open play since the match against Southampton at home in December and was also absent from training earlier this week for unspecified reasons, so either Gabriel Martinelli or Eddie Nketiah may lead the line this weekend.
Southampton possible starting lineup:
Forster; Livramento, Salisu, Bednarek, Walker-Peters; S. Armstrong, Diallo, Ward-Prowse, Elyounoussi; Adams, Broja
Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tavares; Xhaka, Lokonga; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah
PREDICTION : Southampton 1-3 Arsenal
