EASTER DISASTER: A BOAT ACCIDENT CLAIMS SEVEN LIVES IN EASTERN REGION

Easter is a Christian jubilee celebrated generally in April every time to commemorate the death and rejuvenation of Jesus Christ. The period begins on Holy Thursday through to Easter Monday. This time's festivity began on a solemn note in Ghana until moment when disturbing news started coming in from the Eastern region where the festivity is always massive 

 

 Seven people have reportedly failed after a boat overturned on the Volta lake in the Kwahu North quarter of the Eastern Region. 

 According to surviving passengers, a boat with 20 persons travelling on the Volta Lake from Dzemeni to Havorkope on the Dwarf Islet was involved in the fatal accident noon to their destination. 

 

 The 13 survivors who were saved by deliverance platoon have ago been treated and discharged while the bodies of the departed are at private mortuary on the islet as police commence examinations. 

 Primary disquisition suggests that the boat was caught up by heavy storm leading to the unfortunate development. 

 

 The quarter fellow for National Disater Management Organisation (NADMO) for Afram Plains North quarterMr. Joseph Kakraa has admonished all boat drivers to be conscious of the season we find ourselves. He was speaking on Television 3 News 360 moment when he made this call. According to him, the season is ripe for rainstorm and swells.Mr. Kakraa also prompted all passengers to use life jacket whenever they board any boat.
