Manchester United and Arsenal are both interested in signing Norwich City full-back Max Aarons.

United have identified the 22-year-old as a possible summer target, according to The Sun.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot are the Red Devils' two right-backs.

When given the chance, Dalot has performed admirably in the forward position. In defence, though, he has been average. Wan-Bissaka has the exact opposite problem. The Englishman is a competent defender, although he lacks penetration in the opponents' half.

United believe Aarons can fix this conundrum, according to the Sun, and are seeking him this summer. Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich will compete for Aaron's signing.

Arsenal is thought to be the most serious contender for his signature. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cedric Soares are the Gunners' right-backs at the moment. Aarons, on the other hand, will be a long-term answer for Mikel Arteta's young side at the Emirates, as Soares is already 30.

Aarons came up through the ranks at Carrow Road and was a staunch supporter of his boyhood club until they were demoted for the first time in the 2019-20 season.

However, the Canaries are once again fighting for relegation this season. If they drop to the Championship, it may be more difficult to keep hold of their growing star.

Aarons has appeared in 29 games for Norwich this season, giving him a total of 159 appearances for the Canaries since making his senior team debut.

Should Max Aarons join Manchester United or Arsenal?

Since his senior debut in 2018, Aarons has been a highly regarded right-back. Despite Norwich's Premier League struggles this season, the defender has been one of the team's few bright spots.

He is a true modern-day full-back who is not only capable of defending but also capable of attacking.

Despite the fact that both United and Arsenal are large clubs, Aarons will have a better chance of playing more at Old Trafford due to the existing dynamics of those two squads. At right-back, the Gunners already have Tomiyasu, who has impressed. Manchester United, on the other hand, is dissatisfied with both of their right-back defenders.

The decision could also be influenced by whatever team wins Champions League football next season, with United and Arsenal battling for fourth place.
