Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick against Norwich City.
Ronaldo maintains his record
On Saturday, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second hat-trick for Manchester United this season.
Ronaldo led United to a three-point victory over the Premier League's worst club, having handed his team a 2-0 lead. Norwich pulled a goal back on the stroke of halftime and then came out on top in the second half, scoring swiftly to tie the game. Ronaldo's free-kick not only clinched his hat-trick and the victory, but also set a new record.
His three goals in the game brought his season total to 21, making it 17 seasons in a row that the striker has scored more than 20 goals in all competitions.
The issue with United's defense
Rangnick has brought to light a glaring weakness in his team's defense.
United were leading Norwich City 2-0 at the interval until goals each side of the break drew the away side level. The manner in which United surrendered has been a source of contention all season, particularly the ease with which the Canaries hit the back of the net. Rangnick acknowledged he was dissatisfied with his team's defense.
"They [the goals conceded] were too simple; we are the only team in the league that concedes goals like this," Rangnick stated.
Protests by fans against the owners
Manchester United fans staged a peaceful protest against the club's owners at their home game against Norwich City.
Thousands marched on Old Trafford with placards and flares, demanding that the Glazers quit the club. The 1958 supporters group led the demonstration, calling on those who joined them to remain outside the stadium for the first 17 minutes of the game - one minute for each year the Glazers have been in charge.
On Friday, there was also a protest at United's Carrington training complex.
