Chelsea are willing to allow club record signing Romelu Lukaku depart this summer, according to 90min, with Inter and PSG keen in the Belgian. The Blues paid a stunning £97.5 million to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge in 2021 – the number nine spent three years there between 2011 and 2014 – but he has certainly not lived up to expectations, scoring just five Premier League goals this season.
Under Thomas Tuchel, he is no longer a regular starter in Chelsea's starting XI, and 90min hears that the Blues boss is willing to cut the club's losses and sell this summer.
Inter are among the clubs interested in taking Lukaku off Chelsea's hands, with the forward open to returning to San Siro, where he previously had a magnificent two-year tenure in which he scored 64 goals in 95 games across all competitions. The money required to make any transfer viable are very much within I Nerazurri's means, given Inter is still owed a large portion of the £97.5 million fee the Blues committed to last summer to bring the forward back to England.
PSG's interest in Lukaku is the primary stumbling block to any return to Inter. According to sources close to 90min, the Ligue 1 giants have already spoken to the 28-year-representatives old's about a possible summer move to Parc des Princes. PSG would have no problem matching or exceeding Lukaku's current Chelsea contract conditions, or paying any sort of fee for that matter.
Les Parisiens are looking to improve their final third alternatives this summer, and as 90min reported in February, they are also considering a blockbuster signing.Another Argentine attacker, Paulo Dybala, is expected to take his spot as the team's standout forward.
The 28-year-old is expected to leave Turin this summer after failing to reach an agreement with Juventus on a new contract. Inter are in negotiations with Dybala's representation and would like to pair him with Lukaku at San Siro next season, according to 90min.
