Odartey Lamptey's divorce experience has three important lessons for everyone.

On May 28, 1994, Odartey Lamptey and Gloria walked down the aisle under Ghana's Marriage Ordinance.
However, after 23 years of marriage, the court had no choice but to divorce the couple.
Gloria petitioned the High Court in 2013 to have the marriage annulled for five reasons: violent behavior, infidelity, causing major emotional and psychological harm to her and her children, having extramarital affairs, and false charges of adultery against her.
Odartey Lamptey accepted, but insisted on accusing the wife of infidelity in his defense. He verified it with DNA findings proving he isn't the one. He confirmed it with DNA tests that revealed he was not the father of the three children he claimed to have fathered.
The divorce was eventually granted by the court in 2017, ending a 23-year marriage.
Gloria refused to relinquish the 7-bedroom mansion that was part of Odartey's divorce settlement, resulting in a legal battle.
After nine years of back and forth, Odartey was awarded the flat in a final judgement on March 2, 2022.

Keep an eye on your partner.
