In Turkey, Ghanaian striker Kwabena Owusu was given a three-match suspension.

In last weekend's 2-2 draw between MKE Ankaragücü and Ümraniyespor in Turkey's top flight, Owusu was sent off for two bookable offences.

He was meant to serve a one-game suspension, but it was increased to three games after he was booted out of the game for unsportsmanlike behavior toward the referee.

Owusu was additionally fined 4,500 TL by the Turkish Football Federation's Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) (which is around 307 dollars).

Ankaragücü has stated that they will file an appeal against the prohibition.

Faruk Koca, the club's president, stated that the Arbitration Committee would look at the overall circumstances of the Bereket Sigorta Ümraniyespor match and issue a fair verdict; otherwise, the match would go down in Turkish sports history as a dark mark.

"Owusu's first move was not a yellow card," Koca remarked, adding that "everyone said they were victimized due to referee blunders in the Ümraniyespor match."

The latter does not bother me.

Two Ümraniyespor players, however, received a red card.

"Let the referees be fair," Koca remarked, expressing his opposition to positive discrimination.

We don't want the success that comes with shaibe," he explained.

As things stand, Owusu will not face Adanaspor, and Altinordu will not face Owusu.
