Piers Morgan, a long-time Arsenal supporter, has urged his team to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in the forthcoming transfer season.
Morgan suggested on Twitter that signing the Portuguese striker would fix Arsenal's hitting options ahead of the 2022-23 season.
From one of their interviews, Piers Morgan shared a photo of himself and the five-time Ballon d'Or winner clutching an Arsenal shirt with the number seven on the back.
The 57-year-old wrote on Twitter:
"This summer, Arsenal should sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
I'm dead serious about this.
That would enable me move on from Aubameyang and address our striker dilemma.
I've already picked out a shirt for @Cristiano."
Mikel Arteta's team is in desperate need of a new centre-forward, which is no secret.
In the January transfer window, Arsenal permitted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Barcelona.
As of now, Arteta's only recognized forwards in the squad are Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.
However, it's worth noting that both of the aforementioned forwards' contracts are set to expire in less than six months.
Both of Arsenal's attackers are set to leave on free transfers at the end of the current season.
Cristiano Ronaldo, meantime, has had a fantastic season in front of goal, despite the fact that he is 37 years old.
In a 3-2 victory over Norwich City at Old Trafford, the Portuguese captain scored his second hat-trick of the season.
According to a recent report, Manchester United's soon-to-be-announced manager Erik ten Hag has urged the club to move Ronaldo during the summer transfer window.
The forward's current deal has only one year left on it, and he will turn 38 next season.
A move to Arsenal, on the other hand, seems exceedingly doubtful.
Because of his ties to Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely to join any other Premier League club.
