A deluge of rain has descended on Medeama's Akoon Community Park, transforming the field into a large swimming pool or a lake.

After a second-tier league match between Unistar and Asokwa Deportivo was called off on Saturday, the unbroken rain has caused considerable disruption.

Rains have inundated the tunnel, goalposts, and the pitch itself, causing havoc inside the facility.

The Medeama's home stadium has been transformed into a lake, but it may reopen for matches when the squad returns home next week.

The two-time FA Cup champions are on their way to the capital, where they will face Legon Cities in a thrilling Ghana Premier League match on Match Day 25.

Medeama are in fifth place on the table, nine points ahead of their opponents in 11th place.

The Tarkwa-based side is still stinging from last weekend's 2-1 home win against Real Tamale United.

Coach Umar Rabi has stuck with the same nucleus of the team that beat the Northern region team at Akoon Community Park in Tarkwa.

They face a Legon Cities team that has been injured and defeated 1-0 under dubious circumstances at Golden City Park.

As they square off at the military ground, the pressure is still building on coach Maxwell Konadu and his Tarkwa counterpart.

In 24 games this season, Medeama has 11 victories, seven losses, and six ties.

In 24 games, Legon Cities has accumulated 30 points, winning seven, drawing nine, and losing eight matches.
