Hudson-Odoi 'passes the initial Ghana test.'
Callum Hudson-Odoi, a Chelsea winger, has enthralled Ghana fans after recordings of him singing and dancing to Ghanaian music went viral.
Hudson-Odoi, who was born and raised in London and is the son of former Ghanaian footballer Bismark Odoi, seemed to have retained his Ghanaian origins as he sang to iconic Ghanian singer Daddy Lumba's 'Aben wo ha' while doing the famed shoulder dance.
Fans of the Black Stars, on the other hand, believe that these are merely warm-ups for Hudson-Odoi before he officially switches allegiance and begins representing Ghana.
The footballer apparently obtained a Ghanaian passport a few weeks ago, prompting rumors that he is likely to move sides. For some, the video has confirmed his upcoming appearance with the Black Stars.
"Callum Hudson-Odoi passes the Ghana test for the first time. "Do the Daddy Lumba shoulder dance," tweeted journalist @SaddickAdams, eliciting a mixed response.
"We're focusing all of our efforts on getting in a bench warmer to help us out." Locally, we have several good attackers. "Why Ghana?" you might wonder. @Stevenakdicks, who does not understand the point of phoning the Chelsea star, raised the question.
@tetey4u, on the other hand, was quick to respond, stating, "Stop being emotional here. Ghana will give it their all, even if it means bringing a bench warmer since he has the skills we require.
They went on to say, "Don't send local players to the World Cup because of sentiment." "We have to take this seriously."
Some people are perplexed as to why Hudson-Odoi is joining now.
"That is what the Ghana Black Stars have evolved into. When the qualifiers were going on, where was he? Do you see why we haven't yet won a trophy? Because some of those who have put forth a lot of effort will be let go. @askahinde noted, "He should ask himself if he'd be glad if the same thing happened to him." •
@GideonKupomey reacted quickly to this comment, saying, "If you don't comprehend nature, you will be disappointed in life."
Someone will plant the tree, someone else will water it, someone else will prune it, and someone else will come to enjoy the fruit later in life.
"Does he want to accompany Ghana to Qatar?" "He didn't go to the Afcon, he didn't play in the World Cup qualifiers, but now he wants Qatar," @Asor Gomme asked.
"Keep hyping them up, and after the World Cup, they'll show you their true colors," Anim Boateng remarked.
The 21-year-old has three senior England caps, but due to a change in Fifa rules, he is eligible for a switch.
The regulation was changed in September 2020 to allow players with no more than three caps to move allegiance if they did so before turning 21.
Hudson-Odoi has three England games under his belt at the age of 19, making him eligible for a move if and when he so desires.
