Cristiano Ronaldo earned two different goal bonuses for his hat-trick in Manchester United's 3-2 win over Norwich City.

United's standout man on Saturday afternoon was the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who helped his team stay in contention for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Last summer, Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford and signed a deal that included a number of incentives, two of which he claimed in one game, according to The Sun.

With his three goals against Norwich, he now has 21 goals for the season, earning him £750,000 for reaching that milestone.

Ronaldo will be paid a further £100,000 for each subsequent goal, bringing his total earnings to £850,000.

Edinson Cavani has been missing for the majority of the season due to injury, while Anthony Martial joined Sevilla on loan in January. Mason Greenwood is also out of the running.

No other United player has scored in double figures this season, and Bruno Fernandes, with nine goals, is the closest to Ronaldo's tally.

If Ronaldo ends the season as United's top scorer, which looks likely, he will receive an extra £1 million.

If Ronaldo scores 30 goals, he will be eligible for further incentives, with a total bonus of £2.75 million possible.

Tottenham Hotspur, United's top-four opponents, had earlier in the day been defeated by Brighton.

When Anthony Elanga dispossessed Ben Gibson in the Canaries box and found Ronaldo, who slipped home the opening, they were off to a fantastic start.

With a thundering header shortly after the half-hour mark, Ronaldo doubled his and United's score.

With his first Premier League goal shortly before halftime, Kieran Dowell gave Dean Smith's team a crucial lifeline.

After a close escape from the offside trap, Teemu Pukki equalized after the interval.

In the 76th minute, Ronaldo stepped up to score a free kick past Tim Krul, giving United the victory.

Ralf Rangnick, United's interim manager, paid respect to Ronaldo, who netted his 50th career club hat-trick.
