To ensure a fire-free Easter season, Ghanaians have been asked to follow the finest fire safety standards.

The greatest category of fire breakouts documented at the Command, according to Assistant Chief Fire Officer I (ACFOI), Madam Doris Lamptey, the Tema Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), was household fires, which mainly erupted from the kitchen and defective electrical wiring.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, ACFOI Lamptey encouraged the public to turn off all electrical devices before leaving the house since even the tiniest naked flame might create a fire.

She stressed the need of totally turning off the cylinder and regulators, as well as keeping the burner away from the cylinders.
