A rainfall has wreaked havoc on a poultry farm in Yaakrom, a rural hamlet near the Ghana-Cote D'Ivoire border in the Bono Region's Dormaa West District, killing almost 6,000 birds.

The rains, which were accompanied by a windstorm, reached the settlement at 1630 hours, ripping roughly 90 coops and other structures apart and damaging Mr Yaw Takyi Ansonama's personal goods.

Mr Francis Kwadwo Oppong, the Dormaa West District Chief Executive, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister, and other important RCC staff members have already expressed their condolences to the victim and his family.

Interacting with the farm's management, the Regional Minister expressed her surprise at the extent of the devastation.
