This past week has been really stressful. When a lady was beaten to death by her husband, many others were aware that she had been assaulted. Nobody intervened until it was far too late. A young lady is assaulted in a hotel room, and she is attacked and discredited after telling her account.Why do women have to go through so much just to live? Women are always under attack from their spouses, outsiders, and sometimes their own family. We are moms, wives, friends, career women, spiritual leaders, political leaders, and medical workers who make up half of the population.
When a woman is attacked, the natural reaction is to point the finger at her. She was disobedient; she has a terrible mouth; why is she traveling alone; her attire was inappropriate; she is a temptress. Never interrogate the criminal, who is solely responsible for his acts.
It is a woman's right to live, exist, thrive, travel, select our professional path, lovers, clothing, lifestyle, and sexuality. No one has the right to sexually molestation, violation, or abuse us for whatever cause. Let's put an end to this nonsense. Women should be allowed to exist.
