Sampson Tangombu Chiragia, the first-time MP for Navrongo Central and a member of Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, has stated that he arrived in Parliament at an intriguing time.
STC stated on the Day Break Upper East Show that the voting pattern, as well as the current figures and how they have been divided, provide an intriguing insight of how Ghanaians have become more complicated in their voting and decision-making on national matters.
"It's been interesting [Parliament]." Nobody has ever been able to describe or explain it. You have 20 women for the NDC and 20 women for the NPP.
You have 117 men in the NDC, 117 men in the NPP, and 117 men in the independent candidate. "Is there anyone who can explain this?" He inquired.
"We voted in different places, from different views, and yet we generated the same figures," he concluded.
"God will reveal you if you use force to gain power and increase your numbers." You are suffering today because you are unable to rule the country. "Those who force and steal power will be exposed by God," he added, implying that the current government may have used force to win the elections.
While creating consensus and battling for a common course in Parliament is not a foreign notion to both sides of the House, the Minority Group in Parliament will not tolerate attempts by the Majority Group to impose ideas and policies on the NDC group, according to the MP for Navrongo Central.
He reiterated that the problems of the NDC group in Parliament are the interests of the people, and that reaching an agreement for all government businesses that are designed to help Ghanaians thrive is simple.
Mr. Tangombu Chiragia noted that because students seeking leadership posts seek financial backing from political actors and parties, they are unable to criticise the political parties that supported their campaigns for office once elected. As a result, the entire student body who follows the leadership is denied the much-needed voice.
