Last month, the Oscars' slapgate episode made headlines throughout the world. Will Smith's smack on Chris Rock has left a lasting impression. Many entities and celebrities, including Will, Chris, and Jada, have spoken out about it. Shaquille O'Neal isn't afraid to voice his views in public, and he's given Will Smith some advise once again.
The legendary actor slapped the comedian after he made a joke about his wife, Jada. He notoriously walked up on stage and slapped Chris minutes before accepting his Oscar for Best Actor award for ‘King Richard’. The incident forced the academy to take action against Will Smith.
Subsequently, the academy banned Smith for the next ten years from their shows. Before this, Jada and Will both issued statements regarding the incident, and Jada effectively apologized to Chris Rock.
When Jada spoke on behalf of herself and her husband, Will Smith, it appeared as though she didn't have many people's backs. They both agreed, however, that the response could have been and should have been different.
Shaq had expressed his dissatisfaction in an earlier edition of his podcast and was doing so again. He did, however, have one bit of harsh advise for Will. Shaquille O'Neal gives Will Smith some sound advise.
The Big Accountability | Jamal Crawford, Spice Adams, Nischelle Turner, Jamal, and Shaq discussed the slapgate incident at the Oscars in this episode. Shaq mentioned Jada's intervention on Will's behalf, and he added that they didn't have to come out and say that what he did was bad.
Nischelle and Shaq had a one-word dispute about whether or not they had to confess they were incorrect. "I'll never say I was wrong for punching Brad Miller in the face. It's not anything you'll ever hear me say. "It occurred, and now we're moving on." Shaq followed in his footsteps. "Don't allow people create statements for you," Shaq advised Will Smith in seven words.
Adams sparked the conversation by inquiring about the Smith couple's alleged apologies in the aftermath of the slap. People felt Jada didn't support her husband's side because she claimed it wasn't right, according to Nischelle.
You may agree with Shaq on the whole or with Nischelle on the specifics. In any case, hitting someone on a platform in front of the entire world did not look well for any of the parties involved. It's debatable who was correct, but the matter could have been handled better.
