Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United star, has announced the tragic death of his baby son after his long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez gave birth to a twin boy and a girl.
The two couples took it on Instagram saying;
It is with deepest sadness that we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away," he wrote on Instagram in a joint statement signed by the couple. It is the most agonizing pain that any parent can experience.
Only our baby girl's birth has given us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.
"We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and nurses for their expert care and assistance. We are all devastated by this loss and respectfully request privacy during this difficult time.
You are our angel, our baby boy. We will always cherish you."
In a gender-reveal video featuring their other children, the couple revealed in December that they were expecting both a boy and a girl.
