Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that one of his newborn twins has passed away.
Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, said they were expecting twins at the end of October 2021.
The 37-year-old said on Easter Monday "our baby boy has passed away" in a post on social media, while confirming the birth of his baby girl.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez did not detail how their son died and asked for privacy while they grieve. Their daughter is alive, they said.
"It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel," Ronaldo said. "Only the birth of our baby girl fives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness."
The Manchester United family has rendered support to the legend on their official twitter page.
