Sadio Mane is a freak of nature who can stay at the top of football for as long as he likes.
That is the verdict of his Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who suggested that normal people - including himself - could train like his Senegal star does, and NEVER get the incredible physique he is blessed with. The Reds boss was reflecting ahead of a crucial showdown with arch rivals Manchester United, that his two top stars in Mane and Mohamed Salah are returning to their incredible best at the right time.
Mane has been in outstanding form in recent games, producing a stunning match-winning performance against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final that Klopp says his physicality is almost unique. “His physicality shows his dedication, yes, and he is a talent too. If you do the same training as Sadio - or I do - we will never look like him... it is not possible!” he said. “He is blessed, let me put it like this. He does a lot (of training) absolutely, but he is a bit lucky as well. He will play on well into his 30s... if he wants to.”
Klopp is happy that he is seeing the real Mane in recent weeks, after an inevitable dip due to incredible physical demands of international duty with Senegal. The manager saw in training before the City game that the winger was coming back to his best... and he revealed that he has seen the same signs from superstar Mo Salah, who has also suffered from the intense workload of representing his country Egypt.
