Accra Hearts of Oak have not been at their best in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season following some patchy performances.
The 21 time Ghana champions have produced little to no good performances in the ongoing league season. The Phobians first five opening games of the season was rough having garnered some paltry points on the road. The Phobians swept the board last season where they claim the treble at the expense of their rivals, Asante Kotoko. The Phobians went ahead to beat fellow premier league side, AshantiGold 8-7 on penalty shootouts to claim the 2021 MTN FA Cup. The double automatically gave the Phobians the Super Cup which played between the winners of the league and FA Cup. This season has however been very unimpressive as they have collected 37 points from 25 games and seated in 6th, 15 points behind rivals, Asante Kotoko.
With nine games to end the season, Hearts of Oak fans have grown increasingly unhappy with the performance of coach Samuel Boadu and have called for his sack. The clubs top hierarchy have however not come out with concrete statement about the state of the coach.
