The Premier League title race is not the only one to be decided in the final weeks of the 2021/22 season. The incredibly tight race for the division's top scorer, the Golden Boot, also reaches a climax. We've seen some fantastic goals this season that are in contention for goal of the season, but only a few players have consistently produced magic for their respective teams.
These players have proven to be excellent poachers throughout the season, allowing punters to place consistent winning wagers. This is analogous to great starting pitchers contributing to MLB lines through consistent performance. So, week after week, we see these players work their magic.
Salah's time is 22 minutes faster than teammate Diogo Jota's, though Salah's time includes five penalties. Salah's conversion charge was lower than it had been in 2020/21, when he scored 22 goals. This time, however, he is taking extra pictures from the inner opposition penalty area.
Jota, Diogo
This season, nine Liverpool players have played more extraordinary minutes than Jota, but he is the competition's joint-second perfect scorer, with thirteen goals from 20 starts. When you consider joining the summer, the Portuguese have efficiently honed his goal-poaching abilities.
Ten of his thirteen goals have been lethal one-touch finishes from two to nine yards out. Those totals reflect excellent six-headed goals, all of which were superbly produced, as evidenced by a trio of headers scored during his first five months as a Liverpool player in 2020/21.
Interestingly, none of his sixteen top-flight strikes for Wolverhampton Wanderers came with his head, indicating that he was once less of a penalty area forward at Molineux.
Heung-min Son Son is the most lethal finisher in this season's Golden Boot rivalry.
His conversion fee has dropped from 32.1 percent remaining term (with the exception of the top scorers) to 27.1 percent this time around, but he still leads the pack in terms of having a medical advantage.
The Tottenham Hotspur attacker, like Jota, has thirteen goals without the use of penalties. The South Korean also sets the general in domestic matches, where he has ten goals for Spurs in 2021/22. No other player has scored more in front of their fans, and his efforts account for an incredible 38% of the team's total at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Cristiano Ronaldo has the same number of goals for Manchester United with nine at Old Trafford.
Son has also been extremely dangerous in recent matches, scoring eight of his 13 goals after the hour mark.
Harry Kane's
If we take a step back, he has seven desires in his last seven appearances or 11 in his remaining fifteen. Kane works as a late cashier at the Golden Boot. Earlier in the season, he appeared to be progressing slowly under Nuno Espirito Santo. Conte's arrival, on the other hand, has rejuvenated the Spurs superstar.
Spurs are shifting the ball faster between the lines and attacking with greater speed and intensity under Conte, which has aided Kane's magnificent movement.
The 28-year-old has typically preferred to run in open space, and his sprints into goal positions in recent weeks have been nothing short of world-class.
Sadio Mane's
Sadio Mane is flying high after scoring nine goals in his last eleven Premier League appearances. Despite the fact that he hasn't scored a lot in either of his last two games, his ambitions have persisted in propelling Liverpool to their first league title in 29 years.
Mane has already surpassed his previous best tally in a single league season. That was the number of goals he scored for former club Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga in 2013/14, his first season in the top flight.
Ronaldo, Cristiano
Cristiano Ronaldo finished the season as the top scorer in Serie A, with 29 goals in 33 appearances. He dispelled any fears that he would slow down after returning to Old Trafford with two goals in his first game back. Manchester United will be hoping that the Portugal phenomenon can help them secure a Champions League spot this season.
Last Thoughts
The race for the Premier League Golden Boot is usually fierce, with some of the best attacking players in the world competing in the division. A total of more than 20 goals is typically required to win the combine, and there are plenty of candidates this season. The goal is to compile the character goal totals for the Premier League's top scorers this season.
