Today's kickoff time, TV, live stream, team news, and h2h results for Liverpool vs Manchester United

Date, start time, and location

Tonight, Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 8 p.m. BST, Liverpool will face Manchester United.

Liverpool and Manchester United meet tonight at Afield in a crucial northwest derby match.

In October, a Mohamed Salah hat-trick helped end Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's time as United manager with a 5-0 thrashing at Old Trafford, and Liverpool are now hoping to clinch their first Premier League double over their bitter rivals since 2013/14.

Jurgen Klopp has only suffered two domestic defeats since that first game, leaving Liverpool just a point behind league leaders Manchester City, whom they booted out of the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley in a thrilling 3-2 victory.

United also won ahead of the derby, defeating Norwich by the same scoreline, but they still have a long way to go to end a six-year winless streak at Anfield.

Team news for Liverpool vs. Manchester United

Diogo Jota might return for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp deals with a backlog of fixtures following City's success at Wembley.

Joel Matip, Roberto Firmino, and Jordan Henderson might all be in the mix for a starting spot.

While the hosts have no immediate injury concerns, United are without a number of key players.

Scott McTominay (foot), Edinson Cavani (calf), Luke Shaw (leg), and Fred (hip) are all out, although Raphael Varane (muscle) is expected to return this week.

Despite being engaged in an automobile accident on Monday morning, Bruno Fernandes should be fit.

On Monday evening, Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez confirmed the untimely death of their infant son.

Derbies can produce a variety of results, but a Liverpool squad supported by a raucous, confident Afield is a test that United's defense simply cannot handle.

History and outcomes of head-to-head (h2h) battles

Only one of Liverpool's last eight meetings has ended in a draw.

Liverpool wins with a score of 79.

68 drews

Manchester United is victorious with a score of 89.
