Metal grids meant to cover drains have been stolen in several sections of Accra, posing a threat to both automobiles and pedestrians.
With the arrival of the rains, the situation has grown much more perilous, since pedestrians wandering along the streets in flood waters might easily fall into the drains.
The Graphic Road, the Rev. Thomas Clegg Methodist School area at Kaneshie, along the Liberia Road, between the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and the Accra Technical University, Kaneshie Social Welfare, and the Kaneshie Bus Stop are among the places where the cover grids have been removed.
