Recalcitrant vendors operating along the streets of the Central Business District (CBD) and other critical sections of the city would be detained and punished following the Easter festivities, according to Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey.
According to him, a squad of 1,000 people will be deployed next week to guarantee that cleanliness bylaws are followed and that street dealing is avoided.
Last Thursday, he told the media that street sellers should relocate inside the marketplaces after the festivities or face the consequences.
Mr. Quartey added that shopkeepers operating along the streets of the Central Business Districts have been heavily involved, particularly since the commencement of the Greater Accra Regional Government's "Operation Clean Your Frontage."
