The Jatikay Centre for Human Security and Peacebuilding has decried what it calls the ongoing attacks on Fulani communities in Ghana, as well as the security establishment' incapacity to respond to the violence.

The incapacity of the authorities to take action against the criminals, according to the centre, poses a huge national security threat to the country.

The centre's executive director, Adib Saani, said in a statement that the Ghana Police Service had failed to intervene after 9 Fulanis were killed by a gang of roughly 100 people in Zakoli, a neighbourhood of Yendi.

"We are astounded by the Ghana Police Service's inability to apprehend a single suspect days after the occurrence." The government has not even released a statement.
