Armed thieves opened fire on a church in Atwima Afrancho in the Ashanti Region, wounding five people, three of whom were children.
According to an eyewitness, the heavily armed thieves assaulted the Heaven Embassy church about 1:00 a.m. on Easter Friday during a watch night worship.
Pastor Newton, the head pastor, said that they heard loud gunshots during service. Because the armed robbers wore black, they originally mistook them for police officers from distance, according to him.
When they entered the unfinished church, however, they began pointing the rifle toward the congregation. The guys then requested one of the younger pastors to turn out all the lights in the auditorium, according to Pastor Newton.
5 people, including 3 children, are recovering from gunshot wounds.
