Alex Quainoo, 46, a farmer and hunter from Assin Bepokokoo in the Central Region's Assin South District, is accused of shooting his wife, Victoria Asiedu, over her unwillingness to pay him Ghc2 to buy alcohol.
According to the victim, her husband had previously asked a torchlight to go snail hunting, according to Adom News' Alfred Amoh.
She added that the suspect, who is presently on the run, approached her about 8:00 p.m. on Easter Saturday and demanded the money, which she was unable to pay.
His spouse, who was furious, threatened to murder her and, after missing the target neck, shot her in the two hands.
At the St Francis Xavier Hospital, the victim is fighting for her life.
