Real Madrid opened a 15-point gap at the top of La Liga's table after their win against Sevilla and following Barcelona's shock home defeat to Cadiz last weekend, Los Blancos can win the title as early as this coming Sunday.
However, that's not simple as it sounds.
Real Madrid are currently on 75 points from 32 games, whereas Barcelona are on 60 points with 31 games completed. Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are both on 60 points from 32 games.
If Real Madrid beat Osasuna this Wednesday, they could be crowned champions by Sunday without kicking the ball depending on certain scenarios elsewhere.
But if Real Madrid are to win the league this Sunday, Barcelona would need to take a maximum of just one point from their next two games against Real Sociedad on Thursday and Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Along with that, Atletico Madrid need to draw or lose against Granada on Wednesday in order for Los Blancos to be crowned champions of Spain again. Sevilla would also need to drop points against a resurgent Levante on Thursday.
Alternatively, if Real Madrid reach gameweek 35 of La Liga with at least a 12-point lead, they will definitely win the title that weekend regardless of results elsewhere.
