Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's attacker, has provided an unusual insight of how Manchester United helped the Reds win 4-0 against the sluggish Red Devils.
Salah was at his best on Tuesday night, adding a brace to his hat-trick against United earlier this season.
Liverpool took the lead in the fifth minute thanks to Luis Diaz's goal, and it appeared that the Red Devils were doomed from then on.
Salah then added another stunning goal to his long series of incredible goals this season in the 22nd minute, with United players nearly statue-like.
After some excellent build-up play from Jurgen Klopp's side, Sadio Mane added a second in the 68th minute. Salah finished the cake off with a beautiful chip.
The Egyptian star, on the other hand, feels that the performance of their tough opponents made the Anfield side's night easier. (via Eurosport) He told Sky Sports:
"In the midfield and at the back, they make things easier for us."
Indeed, United's shaky defence, which saw the Red Devils play a high line despite having five at the back, made Liverpool's first two goals easier.
Salah went on to say that:
"In a one-on-one situation, they always want to hand the ball over to us." As a result, they significantly simplify our lives."
The former Chelsea winger then remarked on Klopp's team's quickness in capitalizing on the game's momentum, saying:
"At Old Trafford, we've got a clean sheet here and a clean sheet there." We hope to score one goal when we get to the game. We'll go for a third when we get the first. However, I believe we have put in a strong showing. "Hopefully, we'll be able to keep going in the same direction."
With a quadruple on the line, Liverpool blast Manchester United and seize the lead.
This was the one game this season that Manchester United fans did not want to lose. After winning the Carabao Cup in February, Liverpool is in contention to win an unprecedented quadruple of trophies. They will face Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals and are in the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
They are now in front of Manchester City in the title chase, despite having played a game more. Before the game, Harry Maguire stated that his United team was more driven by the chance of gaining three points for the fans than by the prospect of deflating Liverpool's aspirations.
However, the manner in which the Reds thrashed his Manchester United team demonstrates how far different the two clubs are.
Liverpool enjoyed toying with United at times, and their nine-goal aggregate score versus United this season is the most in the rivalry's history.
It demonstrates how much momentum Jurgen Klopp's side has coming into the final months of a spectacular season.
