The Ghana Police Service's Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) is frantically attempting to tow a trailer that has fallen across a piece of the major Accra-Kumasi Highway near Anyinam.
The truck, which had a foreign licence plate, is thought to have experienced a steer lock while in transit, resulting in the tragic road accident.
Tourists, revellers, and other road users returning to Accra after the Kwahu Easter Festival, as well as those utilising the Kumasi stretch, had been stuck for about two hours.
When Citi News arrived on the site, the MTTD crew, together with the driver and his passenger, who had suffered minor injuries, were busy attempting to tow the truck off the main road.
