After his firm gave him a surprise birthday celebration despite his concerns that it would cause stress and anxiety, a Kentucky man was paid $450,000 (£345,314).
Kevin Berling, the complainant, says that an uninvited 2019 birthday celebration at Gravity Diagnostics caused him to have panic episodes.
According to Mr Berling's claim, the corporation discriminated against him because of his disabilities.
Any impropriety on the part of the corporation has been denied.
According to the complaint filed in Kenton County, Kentucky, Mr Berling – who suffers from anxiety problems – had requested that his manager not celebrate his birthday at work as it is customary for its workers since it may trigger a panic attack and bring up unpleasant childhood memories.
