Burnley guardian director Mike Jackson said Ashley Westwood will counsel a specialist to decide the degree of the injury he endured against West Ham United on Sunday.
Midfielder Westwood experienced a serious right leg injury following an impact with West Ham's Nikola Vlasic in the 22nd moment and left the field on a cot. The match finished 1-1.
"He will see a specialist today and the specialist has gone with him," Jackson told correspondents. "I couldn't say whether it is a break or a separation, we will be aware after that assuming he wants an activity."
Burnley, eighteenth in the association and three focuses from security, have twelfth put Southampton on Thursday.
