Peasant farmers participating in the government's flagship initiative, "Planting for Food and Jobs," have raised concern about how their farming companies are slowly dying due to a shortage of fertilizers.
Farmers claim that their fertilizer suppliers are unable to provide them because the government is hesitant to fulfill its obligations owing to them (suppliers) after giving fertilizers to farmers for the 2021 planting season.
These farmers currently claim that their livelihoods are in jeopardy, and that if the government does not address their concerns, they would be forced to stop farming, a circumstance they fear will have a detrimental influence on the Planting for Food and Jobs Program.
According to available statistics, the agriculture industry has experienced a decline.
