Real Sociedad vs. Barcelona - Preview ,prediction, available players team news, missing players,lineups,Kick- off time
Barcelona will look to get back to winning ways in La Liga when they travel to top-four rivals Real Sociedad on Thursday night.
The Catalan club is currently second in the table, 15 points behind leaders Real Madrid, with Real Sociedad fifth, five points behind fourth-placed Atletico Madrid in the race for a place in the Champions League.
Team Updates
Real Sociedad will be without Mikel Oyarzabal, Nacho Monreal, Carlos Fernandez, and Ander Barrenetxea due to injury, while David Silva is suspended.
Silva's absence, as a result of his red card against Real Betis on Friday, could result in a formation change for the hosts, with Portu possibly moving into a front three and Joseba Zaldua returning at right-back having been suspended last time out.
Head coach Alguacil is unlikely to shuffle his pack following the goalless draw, so the majority of the players should keep their spots, with Alexander Isak and Alexander Sorloth both expected to play in the final third of the field.
For Barcelona, Ronald Araujo will be available after serving a suspension, and Gerard Pique may be able to return from a groin injury to play in the middle of the defense.
Pedri will miss the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury, while Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto are unlikely to play despite recently returning to training.
Ansu Fati is getting closer to a return to the first team, and Xavi has yet to decide whether to name the Spain international on the bench for the clash with Real Sociedad.
Following the defeat to Cadiz, Aubameyang is expected to replace Memphis Depay in the final third of the field, while Sergino Dest and Clement Lenglet could drop out of the defense to allow Pique and Araujo to return.
Barcelona will be desperate to get back on track on Thursday evening, but Real Sociedad are a team to be taken seriously, especially at home. Because the Basque team will be the fresher of the two, we have had to settle for a low-scoring draw, which will further open up the top-four race.
Real Sociedad possible starting lineup:
Remiro; Zaldua, Zubeldia, Le Normand, Rico; Merino, Zubimendi, Rafinha; Isak, Sorloth, Portu
Barcelona possible starting lineup:
Ter Stegen; Araujo, Pique, E Garcia, Alba; F de Jong, Busquets, Gavi; Dembele, Aubameyang, Torres
PREDICTION : Real Sociedad 1-1 Barcelona
