The terrible tragedy occurred in their Mgbuoba home on Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022.
According to accounts, the deceased, known as Ruth, had already moved out of her matrimonial house with her four children due to her husband's aggressive behaviour.
However, her husband pleaded with her to come home and promised to turn over a new leaf, but when she did, things only became worse. Despite their involvement, the guy has been beating up his wife, according to the couple's neighbors.
The guy is claimed to have descended on his pregnant wife after giving her N500 to make rice but she informed him that she was ill and hence unable to cook. He began abusing his wife out of rage, despite the fact that she was pregnant.
Some of their neighbors attempted to interfere, but he refused, claiming that it was a family affair. He then dragged her into the room and assaulted her with additional punches and kicks. He eventually saw that his wife was no longer breathing. He then decided to flee and draped a cloth over his wife's body.
His little daughter raised an alert, and he was apprehended by several neighbors and handed over to the authorities.
