Rochdale blast: Bomb crew called after police 'went up against by suspect with blade'

 

A colossal cordon was set up in Rochdale town focus after a dubious thing was observed today, a Greater Manchester Police representative has said as a youngster was confined

 

A bomb crew have completed a controlled blast after police were stood up to by a teen suspect with blade.

 

It came after a dubious thing was found in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, recently.

 

The power say a 17-year-old male has now been securely kept as they send off an examination.

A GMP representative expressed: "At around 3.10am on Thursday 21 April 2022, we got a report of a dubious thing on Dane Street, Rochdale.

"Officials joined in and found a dubious thing. As a precautionary measure, a cordon is set up and expert officials are in participation.

 

"Individuals from people in general are approached to stay away from the area. During the underlying reaction, officials were faced by a man with a weapon.

 

"A 17-year-old male was securely confined. Enquiries are progressing."

 

Pictures show a blade spotted on the floor in Rochdale this evening, with proof markers set close to it.

 

Officials are as yet working endlessly behind the cordon, it was accounted for - without any indication of it being lifted any time soon.

 

There are street terminations on Manchester Road, Dane Street, The Esplanade and St Mary's Gate, it was declared.

Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted: "Going in Rochdale Town Center earlier today? Street terminations are set up because of a police-drove episode. Manchester Road/Drake St. St. Mary's Gate/College Road.
