- According to reports, Llorente was one of those journalists paid by Josep Maria Bartomeu to defend the former president amid the BarcaGate scandal.
The reporter was said to be receiving €50,000 each year between 2015 and 2020 and €70,000 in 2021 – it's almost as much as Gavi's annual salary at Barcelona (± €96,000)!
However, it is also believed by some people that Llorente's colleagues were more responsible for the scandal and that the journalist's professionalism shall never be in doubt.
