Some images of Barcelona celebrating their Clasico win against Real Madrid.
On March 20, Barcelona stormed the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu with a win that unleashed euphoria among everyone involved with the Blaugrana, who earned the right to dream of still being in the fight for the LaLiga Santander title. It looked difficult, but not impossible.
The win against Real Madrid put them 12 points behind the league leaders, with head to head in their favour in the event that they drew level on points at the top. But beyond the gap, which was large, Xavi Hernandez's men consolidated their great form and extended their spectacular unbeaten run in the domestic championship to 13.
Barcelona were on a roll in their league comeback and believed they were capable of anything. This was demonstrated by the celebration after winning the Clasico, first on the pitch with all the players forming a huddle on the Bernabeu pitch and then in the dressing room, where they gave free rein to their joy.
Joan Laporta and his directors enjoyed the moment. Barcelona had grown in stature and had left Real Madrid in tatters.
A devastating Real Madrid
But just a month later, Real Madrid have ruined Barcelona's Clasico party and left it as no more than a painful anecdote. The Blaugrana were happy, but Real Madrid's reaction left the dreams that Xavi's side had of a comeback in pieces.
Not a single sign of weakness has been shown by Real Madrid after the disappointment of the Clasico.
After the defeat to Barcelona, Real Madrid have won all four of their subsequent league games. The Blaugrana were looking to the calendar and Real Madrid had tough games to come, but they overcame them.
Real Madrid have not faltered in LaLiga Santander - they have won big domestically - and, furthermore, they overcame Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals.
A month on from the Clasico, Real Madrid have an 18-point lead at the top of the table and are set to be crowned champions before May even arrives.
