Out of the 20,221 instances submitted to the Rent Control Department last year, 14,586 were resolved.
Recovery of possession, rent arrears, return of rent advance, tenant incentive to resign, and requests for extra time to vacate residential flats were among the instances.
Emmanuel Hovey Kporsu, the department's Head of Public Relations, told the Daily Graphic in Accra that between 2016 and 2021, the industry's average case settlement rate was 83 percent.
The remaining 17% of cases were either dropped from the department or transferred to magistrate courts for resolution.
