IT'S TOO QUICK TO COMPARE AFENA-GYAN TO ME - ASAMOAH GYAN.

Asamoah Gyan, Ghana's all-time leading scorer, has advised football fans to refrain from comparing him to Felix Afena-Gyan in order to relieve pressure on the young striker.

Comparing him to the 20-year-old, according to Baby Jet, would hinder the player's development and confidence.

Due to the similarities in their names and styles of play, Afena-Gyan has been hailed as the striker who will fill the shoes of Asamoah Gyan since bursting onto the football scene.

Although Gyan acknowledges parallels in Afena-style Gyan's of play and admires his dedication to the national team, he believes the young AS Roma attacker needs more time to develop his game.

"Don't put too much pressure on the boy," Asamoah Gyan said on Citi TV. "It's too early to make that comparison; maybe there's a lookalike."

"He is a very excellent player, and the pace and intensity with which he played against Nigeria showed that he wants to please the supporters.

"He had cramps, and when a player gets cramps, it signifies that he has given his all, which is something I like about him.

"He is a young man who requires a lot of mobility. We are not identical, but when I was like him, I did the same things "Asamoah Gyan made a statement.

Like Asamoah Gyan, who began his professional career in the Seria A, Afena-Gyan began his professional career as an attacker in the same league.
