Romelu Lukaku's transfer was given an honest decision, and Chelsea were told to prepare for an £77 million exit
Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has told Thomas Tuchel that Romelu Lukaku will not have a happy ending at Stamford Bridge, despite insisting that he can win back the fans' trust.
Thomas Tuchel has been informed that Romelu Lukaku has burned his bridges at Chelsea, amid growing doubts about his future at the west London club. The 28-year-old was one of four substitutions made by the German manager for this evening's match against Arsenal.
The Belgian striker, who joined the club from Inter Milan in the summer, has made his first Premier League appearance since February. Lukaku had a successful previous start against Arsenal when the Blues ran riot at the Emirates in August, scoring inside the opening quarter of an hour.
Despite his early-season moments of brilliance, he's struggled to live up to his eye-watering £97.5m price tag. Lukaku possesses Since returning to Stamford Bridge, his market value has dropped by £13.5 million.
With the Belgian's recent misfortunes in mind, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink stated on Sky Sports that Lukaku has no future at the club. The former Chelsea striker did, however, claim that the striker could finally justify his price tag with a vivacious performance.
When asked if Lukaku's story at Stamford Bridge could still end happily, Hasselbaink replied: "I don't believe so." As a manager, you never give up on your players.
