Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 1-0 at Reale Arena on Thursday night, with Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring the game's only goal.
The 32-year-old scored the game-winning goal in the 11th minute, lifting Barcelona to second place in the 20-team standings with 63 points from 32 games.
After being pushed through by Ousmane Dembele, Aubameyang, who joined the Catalans giants in February, wasted a good chance to score early on.
In the ninth minute, Dembele had a chance to put Barcelona ahead, but his feeble shot sailed over the bar.
After a pass from ex-Manchester City player Ferran Torres, it was the former Arsenal captain who put them ahead with a looping header.

In the 54th minute, Sociedad's first genuine chance of the game came when Alexander Isak found himself unmarked within Barcelona's danger zone, but goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen comfortably handled with his final effort, diving the right way to push it out for a pointless corner.
With nine minutes remaining before the final whistle, Aubameyang was replaced by Luuk de Jong.
His goal also helped Barcelona get back on track in the Premier League after a 1-0 loss to Cadiz on Monday.
