Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, Chairman of the Order of St John Ambulance, emphasized that first-aid training and professional home healthcare are communal obligations of all citizens to protect their health.
As a result, the St John Ambulance will open a school for first aid training and home care in Accra to teach the general population how to care for injured and ill people.
Prof Akosa stated this during the St Johns Ambulance 85th Anniversary Launch in Accra, adding that the organization's objective was to have schools in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, and Ho.
He discussed CPR, haemorrhage management (how to stop bleeding), immobilization (restricting the mobility of a fractured bone in the leg), and how to administer first aid.
