The park, which was built as part of a €74 million project commissioned by the previous administration in 2016, has been neglected, resulting in major structural flaws.

Mr Samuel Nii Adjei Tawiah, KoKMA's Municipal Chief Executive, announced the makeover during the first regular meeting of the third session of the second Assembly, saying it was to build more offices and meeting spaces to relieve congestion in the main office.

"It is believed that the makeover will result in the park being beautified to fit its standing as the assembly's wedding site," he added.

Mr Tawiah stated that the Assembly will work with the Department of Parks and Gardens (DPG) to green and beautify the city.
