Manchester United's midfield will be in severe need of reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

Fred and McTominay aren't good enough; on the other hand, experienced Matic is scheduled to leave at the end of the season, while Pogba's contract expires in a few months.

According to Sport, Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils' next manager, would be given a transfer budget of 250 million euros, which he will use to reunite with Frenkie de Jong.

Man United will make a bid for the Dutch international, who flourished under Ten Hag during his stint at Ajax, according to a reputable Spanish news source.

De Jong was a crucial player of the Ajax team that won the domestic double and advanced to the Champions League semi-finals after defeating Real Madrid and Juventus during the 2018-19 season.

As a result, Barca decided to pay him 86 million euros (£72 million) for his services, and Sport believe that his value has not decreased. The Catalan club is said to want to keep the 24-year-old forward.

So far this season, the 40-cap international has scored three goals and contributed as many assists in 25 starts, demonstrating his versatility in both defensive and creative midfield areas (La Liga).

Should Ten Hag spend £72 million to transfer Frenkie de Jong to Old Trafford, in your opinion?
