Every team wants goal strikers that can provide at least 20 goals every season. And having two players who are capable of doing so is a blessing in disguise.

But who are the three players that score 30 or more goals per season? That’s beyond decadent, and if you think about it, it’s nearly cheating.

Barcelona wowed everyone for years with M-S-N, and then Paris Saint-Germain spent a fortune dismantling it and putting together their own trident, with different degrees of success. And don’t forget about Madrid’s B-B-C!

Here are five great attacking trios that have combined to score 100+ goals in a single season:

Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gareth Bale (100 goals in 2014/15)

The B-B-C have won more Champions Leagues than any other trio. During the 2014/15 season, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema combined to score exactly a century of goals for Real Madrid. The trio’s previous high was 97 points in the 2013/14 season.

61 of the goals were scored by Ronaldo, 22 by Benzema, and 17 by Bale in his second season in Spain. When they’ve performed well, it’s been as a tandem, with Benzema and Cristiano doing the bulk of the work.

Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto’o, and Thierry Henry (100 goals in 2008/09)

Barcelona’s penchant for the 4-3-3 formation ensures that they will always appear prominently in any front three rankings.

After Pep Guardiola took over, the deadly combination of Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto’o, and Thierry Henry was blitzing opponents left, right, and center, making them the best team in the world.

At the start of the season, Messi started on the right wing, scoring 38 goals in 51 games, with Eto’o scoring 36 goals in 52 games and Henry scoring 26 goals in 42 games for the Catalan club on their way to a triple of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Champions League trophies.

Jonathan Soriano, Alan Carvalho, and Sadio Mane (108 goals in 2013-14)

Only Red Bull Salzburg has managed to dethrone Spain’s dominance in terms of a mindless number of goals. The outstanding trio of Jonathan Soriano, Alan Carvalho, and Sadio Mane helped the Austrian squad score 108 goals in the 2013-14 season.

Soriano led all scorers with 48 goals, followed by Carvalho with 37 and the current Liverpool player, Mane, with 25. Salzburg won the Austrian title and went on to win the double for the second time in club history.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gonzalo Higuain (118 goals in 2011/12)

Some tabloids dubbed the 2011-12 season “La Liga de los Récords” (The League of Marks) since Real Madrid smashed several long-standing records, the most notable of which was the most goals scored in a season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gonzalo Higuain have a combined total of 118 goals. Benzema had his most productive season in a Madrid shirt (32 goals), but Ronaldo led the way with 60 goals in all competitions. Madrid also set a new record for the most total points (100) in a single La Liga season.

Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez (131 goals in 2015-16)

In the 2015-16 season, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar scored 131 goals between them, breaking an astounding goalscoring record. They surpassed their previous high of 122 goals, set in the 2014/15 season.

At the time, Suarez scored 59 goals, Messi scored 41 goals, and Neymar scored his 31st goal in the Copa del Rey final, putting “MSN” in charge of 131 of Barcelona’s 177 goals in that season.

Messi was the club’s leading scorer last season, with 58 goals, followed by Neymar and Suarez with 39 and 25 goals, respectively.
