After supplying farmers with fertilisers for the 2020 and 2021 crop seasons, the government of Ghana owes Fertilizer Suppliers an estimated debt of 436 million Ghana cedis, according to recent checks done by Peacefmonline.com.

According to several of the businesses that Hello Fm's Sampson Kwame Nyamekye met with, the government only paid them a portion of the money, leaving 86 million Ghana cedis in arrears by 2020.

After supplying farmers with fertilisers for the planting season in 2021, the government neglected to refund these firms' 350 million Ghana Cedis loans, resulting in the debts being accumulated.

Currently, certain fertiliser providers that have stock of various fertilisers are preparing to sell to neighbouring nations in order to pay off their obligations, since the implementing Ministry is in the process of reorganising.
